Tiny Sephora Haul
By Alina Avery
I did a decent amount of shopping during the Sephora VIB Rouge sale this weekend, mostly online. I did pop into the local store though to purchase a few essentials.
First, a repurchase. Gimme Brow is a staple of mine and (in my opinion) the best product that Benefit makes. It’s a tiny brow gel with fibers that really helps to make your brows look fuller and darker as well as holding them in place. You can wear it alone on little to no makeup days and it just looks like you have awesome brows, not like you’ve filled them in, or you can wear it with a little brow pencil or powder to create a natural looking, defined power brow.
Here’s a closer look at the brush. It’s teeny tiny and perfect for getting precisely through brows without getting brow gel all over your face. I wear Medium/Deep, which is a cool ashy brown that’s versatile enough for most brunettes. There’s also a Light/Medium shade that’s a taupe color, great for blondes.
This is my third tube of this brow gel, so you can see how much I love it. It’s a staple in my brow routine and makeup collection. I haven’t really found anything else that’s similar in effect or quality.
The other product I picked up is one of the new Make Up For Ever primers. There are 10 of these currently in the line, all for different needs and effects. I opted for the mattifying version. My first impression is that this is MATTE. My face usually feels a bit slick after a few hours, but this has it feeling velvety. It would probably be pretty drying if you have dry skin, but my skin is currently combination/oily, so I used just a bit of this on my nose, forehead, and chin where I tend to get greasier, leaving my drier cheeks and under eyes bare. I’m still giving this a trial to see if it will work all day, but it gets a big thumbs up so far for doing what it says it’ll do.
More to come on my online order soon! Did you pick anything up from the sale?
